In our fast-paced professional lives, it’s easy to overlook subtle health cues. But when your body starts sending signals—like unexplained bloating or fatigue—it’s time to listen.

Parasites: Not Just a Third-World Issue
Contrary to popular belief, parasites are not confined to underdeveloped regions. In fact, they are more common in the United States than many realize.
- Toxocara Exposure: Approximately 14% of the U.S. population has been exposed to Toxocara, a parasite transmitted from animals to humans. (CDC Archive)
- Chagas Disease: Over 300,000 people in the U.S. are infected with Trypanosoma cruzi, the parasite causing Chagas disease. (CDC Archive)
- Cysticercosis Hospitalizations: At least 1,000 hospitalizations for symptomatic cysticercosis occur annually in the U.S. (CDC Archive)
Signs You Might Have a Parasitic Infection
Recognizing the symptoms is the first step toward addressing a potential parasitic infection:
- Persistent bloating or gas
- Unexplained fatigue
- Digestive issues like diarrhea or constipation(MedicineNet)
- Skin irritations or rashes
- Mood swings or anxiety(PMC)
- Teeth grinding during sleep
- Itchy skin, especially around the rectum
- Visible worms or unusual particles in stool
If you notice these signs, it’s essential to consult with a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis and treatment.
My Personal Journey
As a Doctor of Traditional Naturopathy and PhD in Natural Medicine, I prioritize gut health. Yet, a few weeks ago I experienced persistent bloating and nausea, regardless of my diet. Suspecting a deeper issue, I began a regimen combining gemmotherapy plant stem cells with my Bloatless You and Bright You supplements. Within weeks, I noticed significant changes, including the elimination of parasites… barf. Literally a worm in my stool (I know TMI) but if you are not looking or paying attention these suckers can make you even sicker. This experience reminded me of the importance of regular gut maintenance.
Natural Ways to Support Gut Health
Incorporating specific herbs and nutrients can create an environment less hospitable to parasites:
Some of what I used:
Bloatless You Ingredients:
- Mastic Gum: Known for its antibacterial properties, it may help combat harmful bacteria like Helicobacter pylori. (Verywell Health)
- Licorice Root: Traditionally used to soothe gastrointestinal issues and support the mucosal lining of the stomach.
- Marshmallow Root: Contains mucilage that can coat the digestive tract, potentially protecting against irritation.
- Black Walnut: Historically utilized for its potential to support digestive health and combat intestinal parasites.

Bright You Ingredients:
- Ashwagandha: An adaptogen that may help reduce stress and support immune function.
- Green Tea Extract: Rich in antioxidants, it may support gut health and reduce inflammation.
- Curcumin: The active compound in turmeric, known for its anti-inflammatory properties and potential to support gut barrier function.
- Resveratrol: An antioxidant that may help protect the intestinal lining and support a healthy microbiome. (MDPI)
Dietary Choices to Support Gut Health
In addition to supplements, certain foods can aid in maintaining a healthy gut:
- Garlic and Onions: Contain compounds that may support the body’s defense against harmful organisms.
- Pumpkin Seeds: Traditionally used to support digestive health.
- Papaya Seeds: May aid in maintaining a healthy digestive tract.
- Fermented Foods: Such as yogurt and kefir, which provide beneficial probiotics.
- Fiber-Rich Foods: Like leafy greens and whole grains to support regular bowel movements.(Origins Nutra)
Looking Ahead: Purify You
I’m excited to announce the upcoming launch of Purify You, a nutraceutical specifically formulated to support gut health and create an environment less favorable to parasites. Stay tuned for its release in the next 90 days!
